FireGuy,

I have had the subber on for only about 2 weeks now, and once you get it adjusted to the way you like it, it works great!!! I used it for the first time at the track. It also was my first time at the track and it helped tremendously with my 2nd of 2 runs. I dropped my 60 foot times tremendously, even with my inexperience with launching at the track. I have a picture of my truck that shows the snubber is working. I will try to post it hopefully today. I don't have it on this computer, but will get it sent. It looks like someone just picked up the whole truck a little. If the snubber is adjusted right, you can actually feel and see the truck kinda jump up when you nail it.

AggieSVT,
Can you tell me where your best results were set at on the track and where do you have it set for the street? I know the range is around 1/2 inch to around 4 inches just curious where you are finding the best results!

HighRoller,

Right now, mine is set at roughly 3" (just by sight). We have extremely rough roads around where I live here in Texas, and mine will hit only on 1 bridge seam and 1 railroad track crossing. I like it the rest of the time. I can nail it from any speed, and feel the truck pick up a little. I am not getting the full potential on the street due to the rough roads and the way I drive it. I don't want to adjust it too close and have to worry about it hitting all the time. Again, I only have 2 places(that I know of right now) that it hits, and all I have to do is slow down a little bit(usually going a little over the speed limit anyway, they are long straight roads that you can usually go 5 to 10 over the limit without too much worry) to keep it from hitting. The two runs at the track were made at roughly 3/4" and 1/2", with the 1/2" making a HUGE difference in the way the truck felt and performed. I have not had the time to REALLY play with the adjustment, but that is what I am running. I hope it helps.

High Roller, I'll try to help if you don't mind.
I supply these to Mike.
I have been running the original one I fabricated and installed on my L since late last summer, and have tested it in
every possible position.
It is apparent that each truck will vary due to modifications, and
amount of torque produced.
I personally do not use mine on the street ( easy as it adjusts up
out of detent) as the streets have a lot of bumps in them and I
do not believe it wise to let the snubber make continuous contact with the hogs head while hitting these bumps. But thats ones personal preference.
At the track, I have realized that the best position for my truck is
approximately 1/2" from the hogs head. This has given me the
optimun performance. Once again it will depend on the torque your truck generates.
At this position on my truck, as soon as I apply the throttle, the
rear end of my truck actually lifts, instead of squatting.
AGGIESVT has pictures of his truck leaving the line doing the
same thing, and If he posts them here you can see it. He has a
2nd photo which appears to be at about 100-150 ft. off the line and his truck is still in the same "lifted" position.
By lifting, you enable the torque to be transfered to the wheels
and not up through the springs and into the frame where it would be worthless.

Hope this helps, and please realize I don't mean to answer for
anyone, but just want to be helpful.

Marc

Hey Marc,

If you still have those pictures that I sent you, would you post them here? I am still waiting for my pictures to hit this computer!!

Also, I don't let mine hit all the time! I just know of 2 places that I have to watch for, and let me tell you they are bad places! Any normal driver would watch and slow WAY down, but I am not a normal driver, I hate it when people almost stop in a 45MPH or 55 MPH zone!

Andre, be careful with the Lakewoods. I tore up a set of those. That's why I built the Truck-Traks. I tore up the U bolts on mine.

A 2 in rear drop have any affect on the snubber? There is enough adjustment? I have one on order and I also plan on 2 in drop shackles. No cnflict I hope.
Marc, thanks for letting me know about the snubber. I know they work 'cause I had one on a 69 Dart 340. Don't see them around much anymore. I like the JDM design but I can't accept the price so I was going to do Truck Tracks until you brought this to my attention. I am a tightwad. I don't buy for the name.

Does anyone have a pic of this snubber device? Does the plate that the snubber hits bolt to the bottom of the bed? I'm interested in this and curious...thanks Jeff

I am trying to get some
pictures of this device installed on my truck. As soon as I do
I will pass them along to Mike T. to post as he is the sole
distrubutor.
Dr. D, my truck is lowered 2". The snubber has approximately
6.5 inches of adjustment.
Marc
