Ford chrome breather

I'm not 100% sure if it was FlashSVT or ****** the names are so close. One of youz guys posted a url for the breather that was half the price I've seen available in the usual places. Thanks, I got one!!! I appreciate it. Ya know, some of these tuners need to stop and look at what they're charging people that turn to them for everything. Everybody in business has to make a profit or they won't make it, but some have to be doing pretty good. I'm sure I'll pi$$ someone off by saying this and I don't really want to do that. I just don't understand why one guy charges so much more than the other for what appears to be the same things. I had no favorite tuner when I joined these forums but price can make me pick one. They all have fast trucks using their stuff so it's certainly not a performance issue. I better stop before I start getting Lightning drivebys. Don't hate me, I've just been broke so much in my life that it has made me VERY aware of what things cost and what they're worth. Even tho' I can afford it now I'm still a tightwad at heart. peace!

Worse than the price is the fact that it doesn't do any good for eliminating oil sucking. I know, I just had my boot off yesterday. Plenty of oil in there.

breather

Should the breather should be on the drivers side cover to replace the PCV to eliminate the oil problem? Not only that, is it true you need chip reprogramming,(I don't even have one) or your truck won't run right? I haven't driven mine yet-just got the breather.

What04:

If you want to stop unwanted oil in the intake, disable the PCV valve. Get a 7/16" ball-bearing and push it inti the 3/8"(6/16") hose end at the PCV valve. Just pull the hose off the valve's 'elbow', push the bearing in 1 1/2" or so and put the hose back on the valve. When you pull the valve out of the cam cover(to get the hose off of it), be prepared for oil to run out of it--and the hose.

If you do this, you must have an oil breather or two. I have one in place of the oil filler cap and one in place of the tube that runs from the left cam cover to the boot. Cap off the boot hole.

And of course, clean out as much of the existing oil in the intake area as you can while doing the other things. You will not have any more unwanted oil in the intake. I also flushed some solvent thru the PCV hose, up into the intake area. I let the vacuum from the hose(eng. on) suck it up and down into the s/c, i/c, and combustion chambers. Be careful to not get too much in at one time and hydrolock the eng.
