02L fog light mod..autolamp only
i read on svtlightning.com fog light install link:
"...For example: to convert your foglamps to psuedo-DRL's you can splice the #5 wire to the #7 wire to have the fogs turn on whenever you rotate the headlamp switch to the auto position (filing the switch isn't necessary for this one). "
q1. do i pull the wires from the connector and them splice them together with something like a 3M splice connector?
q2. what is the gauge on those wires?
q3. has anyone had any problem wiring it this way? i just want the fogs on when i have it in autolamp which is what i leave it in most of the time.

It works ¿
It will work you DO NOT HAVE TO CUT ANY WIRES!!!
Just pull switch assembly out of dash and get a crimp style splice connector and connect the browm and yellow wires together this will run the FOG lamps when ever the PARKING LAMPS are on in auto lamp
Just keep in your mind that the parking lamps are on with regular head lights and high beams fogs will not shut off , but you will be able to have the lamps on with just parking lights wich looks great make the truck look even meaner...

P.S I think the wire size it 18awg for the brown and like 20 for the yellow I used a 14-18 splice connector from radio shack

Just keep in your mind that the parking lamps are on with regular head lights and high beams fogs will not shut off , but you will be able to have the lamps on with just parking lights wich looks great make the truck look even meaner...

NO don't pull them out of the connector just remove the connector from the switch both of them (dimmer)
Then you have to remove some of the factory electrical tape IT IS A BEOTCH
especially if you got big paws like me
Then just move the wires around there is enough room to move them side by side (brown and yellow) and crimp the connector on with needle nose pliars then put some electrical tape around the connector pop the switch back in and you are done it will take less then 10 min to do

When do the parking lights come on by themselves in the auto mode? When you turn on the parking lights by themselves can you have the fog lights on or only when you turn them to auto? How about running under the regular headlight on switch with this wiring setup, can you cut the fogs on or off? Thanks for the info. Very interested in having the fogs on with parking lights?
