Bell Tech 3/4 Emergency Brake Cable Question...
Have any of you noticed your cables rubbing between the leaf springs & frame of your L? Also when I took my 20's off and put some factorys on the cable was rubbing the tire. The wheels had alittle different offest.
Anyone noticed this or done any special things? I have my cables unhooked right now. Looking for options....

hey richard, i have the same 3/4 drop as you and i fixed this problem on my truck. i ran the cables under the leafs when i had my springs seperated from the hangers so they do not have any pressure on them. i also customized my factory bracket where it would work just like factory and hold the cables securely. maybe i can get DL to take some pics for you or you can e-mail me if you need to.
Emergency brake, I took that off when I did the kit. WEIGHT SAVINGS!
HAHAHHAHA.
I couldn't use it with the q-forms so it was useless to me. But before I had some metal straps made to hold them in place. They never lasted very long, so I just scrapped the idea and ripped it all out.

I guess it would be the one near Alexandria crossing the Potomac by Blue Plains (?) sewage treatment plant on the MD side and Potomac River Generating Station on the VA. side. I was thinking, and it hurts, that if you're not too far from that area I could just drive down and meet you Sat. or whenever we can agree on, and do business. What d'ya think? I'm about 1-1/2 hrs from there but it's all cruising. Is it too far?
Sat
I have to decline the offer. I have to work Sat and Sun. I work at this B/S nuclear power plant and we're in a big refueling & modification. (which will give me a couple hundred or so a week extra spending money for several weeks). I just thought it might be easier than dealing with Pay Pal/money orders/shipping/postage etc.-and we could actually meet face to face. Could be scary. Besides, I have lot's of questions. These computer vehicles are new to me. The last thing I really tore into was a 340. I just don't want to hurt it 'cause I'm ignorant of these trucks and their quirks.
Richard, I also had the problem with the cables. I did the same thing Red Bolt did, I modified the stock bracket and bolted it up with the front hanger to where the cables ran undreneath the springs. With this setup, you have to be careful when you jack your truck up because the springs will eventually rest on the cables. There is about an inch and a half gap between the cable and my rear tire, im hoping when I put the 20's on that it wont rub.
