Bell Tech Lowering Question 3/4
Bell Tech Lowering Question 3/4
I already have the Bell Tech two inch drop shackles. The online store sells the complete kit which includes the shackles that I don't need?
Are these shackles that the online store includes with the kit the same shackles that I already have?
The front parts only includes the springs, right?

Chikenears, I've got the 1/2" drop. I have been looking at doing the 3/4 also. I believe that they are two different shackles. The shackles on the 3/4 will actually turn out to be a 3" drop. So I would assume that they are bigger. Just a guess. As far as changing shocks. I plan on doing it, only because you will not have the same ride quality with the stockshocks. Its all about the ride. I went out to the garage and looked under my truck and it appears that if the shackles are the same, the difference is made up at the front hangers. Anybody know for sure?
Here's a pic of the kit from the online store.

Sorry, I should have been clearer about what I posted about Amsoil. There was an incomlete link at the top of that Thread. I went to the Amsoil site and read about it. Here it is.

I hope this clears up any confusion.
Tim,
The shackels are the same. I am thinking about raiseing my truck back up. I would have everything you need minus the 2in shackels because I want to keep them. I had the shackels before I got my drop kit. I ordered it from Bell Tech and only got the parts I needed. I am not positive yet on raiseing it. I guess it depends on how it does after next weekend at the track. I can give you parts numbers for Bell Tech if you want?

I just did the 3/4 drop kit
I just got finished installing the 3/4 drop kit on my truck today. I already had the western chassis 2 inch drop shackels on. The front hangers will drop the truck about 2 inches alone. The shackels that came with the bell tech kit are the exact same length as the ones I had but the holes on the two had about a 1/2 inch difference. I installed everything and dropped the western chassis shackels down to the second hole and the back was about 1-1/4 inches lower than the front which was two low for my taste so I put the bell tech shackels in and it brought the front/rear difference to about 3/4 inch with the rear being lower.
The two different shackels were the same lenght but the holes were in different places so you may want to check that out before you purchase anything. Also, if you go with the bell tech shackels from the kit, your gonna have to use the second hole to make it a 3 inch rear drop.

Front - Bell Tech 3in drop springs. They come out to a 2in on a L
Rear- 2in Metco Fiberglass Leaf Springs & 2in Bell Tech Rear Shackel's set in the 2nd hole. This will give you a 2/3 drop!!
A kit like that would ride better prob work better at the track and be ALOT easier to install.....
Like Richard said.......Those front hangers and rivets are a B**** to get off. My dad and I worked on getting JUST the driver side hanger off for about 4 hours
. We had a grinder, drill, mal, hole puch and a couple wedges. The passenger side was a bit easier especially if you take of your tailpipe tips. Just get ready to do some hammering!
The front was fairly easy if you just follow ' Dons Bolt's' instructions on this site. I was done in about an hour on the front.
If you have any questions, shoot me an email.
