Ok, what is the best how-to online on changing plugs? I dont want to pay $80 to have ford do it, but i have no other choice unless someone helps me out. I wish i lived near someone who owns a freakin' L and knew how to work on it. Even if u guys could just snap a few digital pics it would REALLY help. I wanna at least first attempt it!

wow....i really feel stupid asking this, but the only kind of engines i have had experience with dont use COP design. With this design, am i missing where the spark plugs actually are? I look in there and don't see anything. Is there a plate i take off to see them? Somebody help. I think step 1 in changing the plugs would be to FIRST LOCATE THEM

Man, I wish you were close by. I would be happy to help you out. Do you know what a fuel injector looks like? The coil is the black thing sticking up next to each injector. Eight of them and the plug is under the coil, when you remove the coil you will need an extension on your spark plug socket to reach down about 6 to 8 inch's to remove the plugs. There is a small 7mm bolt holding the coils to the engine also. Hope this helps.
pretty much. Ok, I THINK i have. There is an alternating pattern of green plugs, and big round black ones with yellow ford motorsport stickers on them. are the plugs under the yellow ones? if so, dang that last one on the pass side and the 3rd back on the drivers side look like hell to change. BUT, is 80 BUCKS DECENT OR A RIP?

80 bucks is middle of the road. just ask that they "please blow the dirt out", torque the plugs properly (very important), and use dielectric grease, on the boots (for next time). if someone i could trust, did all of this, i'd give them $100 and supply the plugs. i've done this job a dozen times, and although it gets easier, it's never gets easy
I had one of the regulars on the F150 board, here in MD. told me he would do it at his shop for $135 . I said how bought a break for a fellow "L" buddy and he said that was a break.
