Has anyone....

Has anyone totaled their Lightning with the mods on it? Just curious if you would be able to take all the stuff off it (exhaust, and other stuff) or would that be prohibited. I could see the chip and stuff would be easy, but just wondering about this..

2000 Black "Shadow" L
-JL DiabloSport Chip
-JL Air Induction Kit
-Bassani Cat-back Exhaust
-DiabloSport Line Mod Valve

Installing over the weekend: JL 4# Pulley, Denso Iridium Plugs

Coming soon: Trenz Grille, 20" Rims, Lowered Stance

Typically, if an ins. co. totals a vehicle, they own it. However, you could negotiate a deal on buying back parts. If the adjuster is a good guy, he'll let you take them... no charge.

never totaled the L but did a mustang, there were a couple days it was in my possesion before it got hauld away, u can probally get most of it off then, the adjuster really wont look at all that much, unless something obvious is missing like the motor, after he was by i ended up buying it back from the insurance company and parting it out, i made back the money it costs for the salvage plus, about a week after i totaled that stang i had the one thats in my gallery, which still isnt done...

I totalled a Mustang of mine a few years ago. I went to the junk yard where it was being kept and was able to get off all the parts I needed. I don't think the insurance companies' really give one way or the other, because the basically won't find out. Thats unless you make off with the entire drivetrain.
