spring and shackle install help

I'm about to try tackling the installation of my new front springs and my 2" belltech drop shackles. Anybody have the steps I should take, or any other tips I need to know. I've never tried this before and that's why I'm asking. Thanks for any help.

I second that notion......I purchased the 3/4 bell tech kit from this site and will try to install it today. Will I need any special tools? How long will this job take? Can it be done with just a 3 ton floor jack and some jack stands? Will I need the camber kit from napa? If so what part number is it? Any tips or tricks is appreciated....

Thanks
Nick

Silver-Bolt did my drop kit and I watched.

Floor jack and a couple jackstands and a ratchet, I think that was it. Floor jack the rear differential and block the front wheels.

to install the shackles:

jack up back of truck and place jackstands on axle tube
block front wheels.
using a floor jack, raise the body till there is no weight on the suspension.
i put the jack under the trailer hitch and jacked up there.

now you can remove the leaf spring/shackle bolts without them springing up and putting a dent in the bed. (and your hands)

it's been a long time since i did this.. maybe someone will chime in if i am wrong.

Clonetek: Don't you mean put jack stands under the frame? If you put them under the axle tube, the leafs will go through the bed...OUCH! I just jacked it up from the hitch until the tires were 1/4" off the ground. Put jackstands under the frame in case the truck falls, it wont fall on you.

clonetek is right...stands under the axle tubes, jack up body to take weight off springs....it's a fairly easy install.....JR
