I encouraged her to race because neither of us (or the Stang driver, for that matter) knew it was slick out. And it wasn't really slick out, except in the spot in front of the dealership. If you think it's wrong to street race, then you think it's wrong. But she knows how to drive powerful cars. She's driven my Mustang, and my Lightning doesn't even compare to it. It has run 12.50s in Denver (at 6000 ft. of altitude) and she handled it just as well as I could. She's no rookie. But... Like I said, if you think it's wrong to street race, I guess that's your opinion. But I'm willing to bet there are more people that street race on this board then people who don't.

dont get me wrong i do street race, but as long as im being this honest ill say that it is very RARE,which i admit is dumb even for the few times i do it but what you and your girlfriend did was beyond dumb, all im saying is be careful and more choosy of when and where you do it.One other thing is i would not let your girlfriend drive the L anymore, its kind of easy to see that she was in over her head being behind the wheel in those conditions, someone actually made mention of this earlier in the post,JUST BE CAREFUL......PEACE

I know street racing is dangerous and that it is somewhat stupid, but I'm the one that chooses to do it. I have never gotten a ticket for street racing. I also think that calling me dangerous without ever seeing me drive, let alone ride with me, is extremely premature and childish. Speeding tickets do not make anyone a bad driver. Some of the best drivers I know have an uncountable amount of speeding tickets. Likewise, some of the worst drivers I know don't have any tickets. My g/f doesn't drive the L anymore, and that wasn't my decision. When we wrecked it was just a wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time type deal and I place very little blame on her. The cops didn't even ticket her after the wreck. I think some of you are misunderstanding what I said in the original post, also. I did not tell her to race at the second light. We had already dusted the guy at the first light. I told her to "catch up" to him and the truck downshifted on the ice. She chooses not to drive the L now because she admitted she wasn't used to the truck and now she is afraid of it. When I said I street race, I also didn't mean all the time. I won't race any ***** in a loud 4x4 or Civic. I only race if I know it's going to be worth it or if I know it's safe. And I rarely street race in town; it is mostly out of town at a known location with good visibility and traction. I have never raced in the rain/snow/etc. I can't say I know I'm safe all the time, because then I wouldn't be. What I can say is that I try to be as safe as I can and still have some fun at the same time. And, svt360, I still don't understand how what me and my g/f did was "beyond dumb." I've explained (numerous times now) that we had no idea the road was slick and that after the first race we weren't racing, just simply trying to get next to the Stang so I could talk to him. My g/f and I certainly aren't stupid enough to race anyone if there is ice on the road. Had we known there was ice, we wouldn't have raced. If you guys want to rag on me some more for being a "retard", go ahead. I think I've explained my side more than enough now. I've also said that I learned from the incident. But if you insist that drivers with speeding tickets and NO accidents are dangerous, then I guess I can't change your mind. You'd just better watch out for me, I guess.

People that drive like a**holes never get the tickets they deserve. People that drive safe get it stuck up there a** for bullsh*t reasons. I am personally against street racing for safetly reasons. Bottom line is that accidents happen. Just yesterday a 75 year old lady put her buick regal in the side of my 01 lightning. After the anger wore off I realized "accidents happen" Im ok shes ok and the truck will be fixed. Some people in here need to get a fu*king life of there own and stop analizing everone elses.

you need to get a life, this is a public forum, you dont like whats written then dont look, and the reason people that drive like a**holes dont get tickets is because they drive within their ability and vice-versa for the people that do,
