Pardon my ignorance, but when changing the pulleys, is a chip required?

 

From stock to 2#, probably not, but you may if you can't get quality gas. Shouldn't be a problem for you in NC.

Anything over 2# and you really need a chip.

 

I am getting ready to put a 2lb pound pulley on my truck and JDM told me to send him my chip for a reburn.....JR

 

The reburn is to make sure you have enough fuel being delivered to each cylinder. When i installed my 4 pounder i gave jim my chip and he said my chip didn't really even need a reburn because enough fuel was being delivered to the motor but at the same tim i got the crankcase breather which needs a reburn.

 

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a chip is the safe way to go.
