When should I start Mods

My L has 200 miles on it. Should I wait awhile before I change the exhaust and intake filter?

I'm sure you'll get a number of responses as to mileage, but it's really whatever you're comfortable with. I would think adding a filter and exhaust would be fine even at 200 miles.

I installed a chip after 3000 miles, but the filter was in long before that.

When you can't stand it any longer

! Seriously, I put a 2 lb pulley, chip, and air intake on at 3,000 miles or so. Since then, I've changed pulleys twice and have 3 chips(back-up). I got into the 12s with a 3 lb pulley and the stock exhaust. I kept the stock exhaust until today(20,800 miles) when I had a Magnaflow c/b installed.

With the 5 lb pulley(see rest in sig.) and stock exhaust, I ran a best of 12.697@107.52, so the stock exhaust will 'work' for you for a long time and won't show much, if any, performance until you get a larger pulley. I hope to get a new best this Sat with the c/b on now.

Our second motor was first started useing a chip and pro-m maf. It then had the nitrous on it the next day. Then raceing into the mid 12's the that weekend.

Our third motor was first started useing the chip, maf, and pulley. The nitrous isn't it yet though, and haven't been the track. But in a few weeks the nitrous will be back on it along with a few new mods.

Basicly do it when you feel like it. None of our motors failed from haveing mods on it to early. Just makeing so much power so offten for a year.

Talking Mods should be

ordered before taking delivery of the truck. That way you have enough time to study the instructions and not waste any time during installation.

That said, it is probably a good idea not to start bolting stuff on, while still in the dealers' lot...

Hey BBQ, here is another:

If you start modding your truck while still in the dealers' lot, you might be a Lightning owner.
