depends how you drive the vehicle, many new vehicles have a memory of sort and they adapt to how you normally drive so if you drive like grandma all the time it will adapt to this and you will effectively loose power. try opening it all the way up once or twice a week by stopping before you get on the freway and then pretending your john force drag racing up to about 80mph. heard this on one of the speed channel shows a few weeks ago.

I think I know you Problem

Every 15k miles you are suposed to have your injectors cleaned. You can buy a cleaner for about 6 bucks. There is a special hose you need to get though (i duno how much) It connects directly into the injector pack. Then you need to turn off the fule pump (disconect the plug from under the passanger kick panel) Once the injector cleaner is connected to your truck turn the truck on and the truck will run off the can. It works realy great and is a 5 min mantince (DONT FALL FOR THOSE "IN THE FUEL CLEANERS" )
I hope this helps man

They're right, I have a 01 Ranger 4X4 with 4L SOHC and a 4.10 rear. People that have driven it have all told me, Geez that thing is fast. I suppose it is, but owning a Lightning has spoiled me, and the Ranger feels dog slow. But, I admit, before I got my Ranger daily driver, I was wondering the same thing as you.
