I didn't know Sal himself actually assembled shortblocks. So he will buy the block, crank, pistons, rods, cam, all bearings, gaskets, timing, and assemble it at his shop and send it to you. Or will he drop ship to you a completed shortblock from possibly a different location. Possibly even closer to you than N.Y. Who will put together the rest of the motor and install it for you (the actual difficult part)? BTW, I was just trying to point out that if it is being drop shipped, it may not cost you that much.

shipping

first of all i would think the shipper would be taking care of the shipping.....but anyhow......... Your block should come mounted on a pallet......as forsaid, if they don't have a power gate.....or you don't have a fork truck, or neighbor with a skid steer loader.....talk to the frieght company about just picking it up at the terminal. They won't mind.....trust me. Shipping that block frieght from ny to ca......could be some money.... I know shipping products i get at my shop with similar weight......about an 1/8 of the distance from where you are runs about 40-50 bucks. Not to take any buisness from sal, but i think you'd be better off to buy the block, & crank from a dealer where you are....but the upgraded components and have a local shop do the build. The frieght is gonna kill ya.
