Head/Supercharger Swap! How Long?

Before you ask I dont plan on doing this my self. How long do you think it should take to swap everything from the heads up(heads, cams, valve covers, intake, supercharger, etc.) from my old engine to a new shortblock(the engine will be out of the truck obviously)?

thanks

EDIT
just remembers that the superchager needs to go on after the engine itslef is in....so pretty much...how long to take out old engine, swap everything from the heads up onto a new shortblock, install the new engine, and put on the superhcager?

This is just a guess but i would say around 7-10 hours for somone who has done this a time or two. The main intake has to be installed after the engine is in also.

You should budget some extra time and money to verify there is no damage to the heads and/or valves once you get the original engine apart. Chances are you bent or broke at least one valve when the rod(s) let go.

I would not re-install those heads without completely disassembling them first and verifying the valves to make sure none are bent. Nothing worse than spending all that time re-assembling and re-installing everything only to have to take it apart again.

While you have the heads apart, might as well break the dumor out and clean the ports up too!

Sounds like a fun project!

Just wondering why not put it all together first, then put it in the truck? That is the way we did it when we put a new motor in my truck. I pulled the hood off though. Very easy job to do.

Jeff, i had the hood off and the upper intake looked to be to close for comfort to the cowling,i don't see how you could install the motor with the blower on and i know you could not do it with aftermarket headers whether pulling or reinstalling. btw,it took us around 5 1/2 hours to get the motor out after messing with the bassanis.
