when i had my 93 lighting(i now have a 2001)i was in a gas station filling up(which was often)and some old geezer came up to me and was asking about the lighting logos on the sides(i had removed the tailgate logo)and told me he had just bought a new 94 and had removed the lighting logos because he thought the dealer had put them on for show.after talking to him for a while i relized he had no idea what he had bought.that might be the case your your old geezer.besides even he did know what type of truck he had bought.i say each to his own
