I got a chance to race a supercharged reg cab 2wd chevy pickup with the 5.3. Off the line I took about 4 lengths with my 2800 stall and 4.10 gears, and by the end of the quarter we were dead equal. The chevy had 10psi of boost on a whipple and I was running the same on my truck with the same type of blower. I was supprised to keep up with that truck since my expedition is 4wd with a whinch on the front end of it and also the weaker 97 version of the 5.4. I think he was a little supprised

 

Good kill. I was reading this post imagining you were in an L and then realized you were in an Expedition. Betcha he don't tell his chevy buddies about this.

 

If you had been in a L, it would have been all over.......

 

I thought a blown 5.3 would be faster than that but I guess not. Can't wait to see one in my L!!!

 

There was a write up I read in Truckin' magazine where they installed a whipple supercharger,chip,headers, and a few other goodies on a short wheel base chevy standard cab with the 5.3 engine and the best run it made was 13.5 @ 102. I wasnt very impressed. I thought it would have run better than that also.

 

I'm running 13.61 @ 102 in my stock L. Bring it.

 

That seems weak as hell for a 5.3 with 10 lbs of boost. Was he pulling a trailer? LOL

 

Just his cheap interior
