Cool Viper KILL

OK, My woman and I coming back from dinner last night and a Grey metalic Viper pulls next to me at the red light!!!hehehehe
I guess he seen that I was riding on my ET-STREETS and revved his motor at me!! At that point my lady knew to hold on!!!
GREEN!!! We both hesitated for a split second, but when I heard his revvs go up a little the "L" was G-O-N-E!!! He only stayed with me for about 30' and then I pulled away like John Force. He let out after I was about 4-5 TRUCK Lengths ahead!!!:o

WooHoo!!!!!!!! AZZ-Whippin Baby!!!!!!! Haven't even put the Exhuast on yet!!!!!

Thats funny as hell. Not the kill but that you were taking your lady out for Valentines dinner with et streets on just in case. Man I thought I was bad. I've got to let the girlfriend see this one so she knows I'm not alone. She was a little pissed yesterday when she showed up and I was under the truck insted of cleaned up and ready to go eat. Nice kill btw.

No flames intended. But the person in the Viper needs to learn how to drive. I am assuming he missed one or two gears. Bob.

I wasn't gonna say anything, but since Bob brought it up ... heh. I'm sure you just bolted outa the hole w/ the ET streets and as soon as the Viper guy realized he wasn't gonna catch you without going into triple digits he quit racing. Vipers are pretty hard to launch anyway (even with the 335s in the back). If you two would have gotten a rolling start I think this story would have been a little different. Regardless, congrats on the win!

Later,

I dunno guys! I ran a 00 silver GTS last tuesday! This Viper comes up on my a$$ hard and buries his front end up the L's rear, I cant see his front end in the rear view, thats how close he was!!WTF? We're running 60 and I thought Id get killed anyways so I hammered the L and he hammers the viper! I have him by a car length and a half all the way to 130 when we backed out!!!! I couldnt believe I held my ground! He pulls up beside me with that WTF look on his face and we go again from 60.......SAME RESULTS!!!! I "pulled" him a car length again to 120! We slow down and he lines up beside me again, we are running 70 this time(the L wont downshift @ 70 ) He hammers the viper first and pulls two car lengths real quick, but he could not pull me and I couldnt pull on him neither. He stayed two links to 130 when we backed out.
So he pulls into a business complex and I follow. He gets out and starts walking around his viper looking at it and making glances my way as I pull in. I get out and he says,"think I screwed something up". I asked why and he said he couldnt pull on me. I laughed and said,"No, you just happen to run a fast truck". He starts looking the L over and says,"That is the fastest Ford anything he had ever seen". (Im still laughing over all of it) and he said he has run several C5 vette's from a 60 roll and left them like they were standing still. My ole chest just bows up with pride. Real cool viper owner! He was my age and driving a viper....some guys have all the luck.
Anyways, he sent his viper to TNT nitrous works here in town this week to have it sprayed! LOL! Says he couldnt have this happening again. Says "that" truck surprised the s*** out of him!
Man I love this truck!
Sorry so long, but I can believe CHIKIN1's story. It could be that both of these viper owners couldnt drive........but I doubt it! Stock GTS vipers turn mid to maybe low 12's stock, so whats so hard to believe? Me and this guy were pretty evenly matched because we couldnt pull on the other,it came down to whoever got in it first. I will admit if we had kept going to 140 or faster, he would have eventually passed me due to Im driving a brick and he has a viper! Nice run CHIKIN1!!

That is totally believable. Most newer Vipers stock run 12.5-12.8 in the 1/4 at the track with a decent driver. If you run one from a dead stop and you have ET streets you do not need a heavy modded Lightning to out run the Viper in the 1/4. However the Viper is going to be closing ground real quick towards the end. As long as you don't run any further than a 1/4 mile then most stock Vipers will be toast. I have talked to several Viper owners and they all say that it is almost impossible to launch hard on the street in a Viper!!!

I own both a Viper GTS and a 01 L and while the L is impressive they dont have a chance against a properly driven Viper.Sorry

timperkins- stock for stock, No, a Lightning doesnt stand a chance. Is your L modded? A few mods on the L changes everything. Look at my sig...........I will embarress a "stock" viper owner on or off the street. Most Lightnings are gonna get modded anyways, so be careful pickin' on the local Lightning's with that snake!LOL!
Ive always thought the blue viper with the white strips like yours is the best looking of them all. Nice car you have there.

viper race

Friend of mine owns a 2000 RT/10 and we had a little friendly duel one night on our way home.. To make a long story short.. it was like this..

My mods were chip&filter (nothing else.. no CAI as in my sig)
He had no mods..

Off the line I spun pretty bad, and he said he bogged a little.. His front bumper was just behind my driver side door all the way to about 60 where we let out due to questionable road qualities up ahead. Up around 50 he was gaining ground fast.. I dont think I would have stayed ahead very long.

Only time I've driven on the freeway next to his viper, I was towing my mustang to the track.. So I haven't had a chance to do any 60+mph rolling starts.

Believe it or not, I actually outran one down I-10 a couple months ago...We ran at about 80 for a couple hours -- I had about 20 carlengths on him the whole time...He had to turn off for gas before I did.

There is no doubt, that with just a few mods, the L can embarass a stock Viper in the right situation on the street. But stock for stock, most of the time the Viper is going to hand the L it's a$$. For those who have taken on the snake and beat it...I salute you!!! Great kill!

What kind of times do you guys think I can turn after the Exhaust, more boost, tranny mods, and a chip re-burn?
When she was bone-stock I ran 8.6 1/8 at 81mph on F-1's w/1000mi. on the clock.
