I agree. Yes the Vipers are mid to low 12's stock, but the thing you guys are missing is trap speed, which is in the 120's mph. That just means the Viper has so much power it can't hook up. Since I've never driven one, let alone even ridden in one, I'm guessing you would have to feather the throttle for at least an 1/8th mile before you could actually go full throttle and get traction. In the mean time, the L goes roaring by. Regardless, congrats on the kill!

Question

Are you sure the Viper knew you were racing?

Cool

I have to side with timperkins on this one especially from a roll,i have never raced one side by side but a new viper will run at least 120-122MPH trap speeds with a decent driver behind it.I can see some of us taking them off the line but how with the majority of us running less than 110mph trap speeds would get walked on badly if they were racing from a roll.

These stories never fail to crack me up.

From a stop, with the L running ET streets, I can pretty much buy that story. Since traction plays such a huge factor from a stop, and on the street. However, I have a REAL HARD time believing the "From a roll" kill. Unless: A.) The viper driver only has 1 arm (his Left) and can't shift and steer at the same time. B.)The viper owner wasn't trying. C.) The viper was on his way to get a Tune-up because only 8 of his cylinders were firing.

Although a Viper only runs low 12's (Traction limited), they TRAP around 117-118 mph. How many L's trap that high? I only know of a SELECT FEW on here (and they're BOOSTIN' HARD with more than just a 4lb pulley/chip and filter). In order to PULL on Viper, from a roll, you'd have to trap AT LEAST 118+!! (or apply A, B, or C from above).

If anyone feels the need to flame....please direct the Flames toward the Law of Physics and not me. I'm just the messenger.

EBBSNFLOWS- Believe what you want, I was there, did it, and it even surprised me! Maybe the guy couldnt drive, maybe he missed a gear, etc, etc. He didnt relay any of that to me. I thought vipers were faster than that also, but on this run, on that day, he lost plain
and simple, whatever the excuse!!!!!!! freakin twice by the way!!!Granted, the guy only had the viper a couple of weeks, but damn, thats still no excuse when you have that much power at hand! Wish I had video of the damn thing, just to prove ya wrong! It upset the poor fellow bad enough to have NOS put on it!!! LOL!
I have better things to do than make up stories here on f150, I have no reason to lie to impress anyone. Doesnt matter to me if anyone believes it or not. If any of you have mods similiar to mine and know someone(or get the opportunity) with a "stock"viper, run him from a 60 roll and see what happens, I think the both of you will be surprised. I never said I destroyed the viper from a roll, it was very close, and I also stated that if we had kept going, there was no doubt he would have passed me!! Sheesh! Hell, I ran a Harley Davidson f150 last night and damn near got beat!! WTF?? I didnt miss a freakin' gear, and yes I was racing him!! I find that VERY HARD to believe as well! Wonder what he had under the hood.
Damn, let me go get a glass of water to put out these flames.

If it really matters to anyone, it was 40 deg. out that day and I had been getting detonation really bad in this cool weather, I had just put 2 gallons on Toluene in the tank earlier that day and it stopped the detonation. This stuff really works!!
