First oil change

At 467 miles showing on the odometer, I changed my oil today. I went with the motorcraft 5w-20 synthetic blend and plan on changing it again in another 1500-2000 miles. Did anyone else change their oil this early and if so, what did you use? TIA

Mobil 1

Slick, Many here who know say it is a real bad ideal to use synthetic before engine break-in ( around 10,000 miles for the L ). You will hear what most describe as marbles in a can sound coming from your valves. Please wait and ask others on the bord what they think before going to Mobil-1 this early.

SYNTHETIC WILL BE FINE

I think the mobil 1 will be fine many others have done it so i am too as far as the breaking I don't believe in it even the dealer told me to drive like I normally would wich is BEAT ON IT plus many other vehicles come with synthetic from factory Ford used 5-20w just for gas milage reasons it even says it in the owners man for the f150 and if it dont work its under warranty anyway they dont expect anyone to use ford oil and as long as it is a approved oil it should be ok but hey it just my .02 I think synthetic oil is better for the truck

i still havent changed to synthetic and am close to 7,500 miles. everyone on here says that if you change too early youll get that noise. im just playin it safe. im probly goin to be getting a new engine so im goin to have to break it in all over again.

TALON

Red, Have you checked out the TALON ( Texas Area Lightning Owners North ) page yet. It"s on the NLOC.com forum . They have meetings once a month at Hooters or other fun places centrally located D/FW, great bunch of guys. I"ve only made one meeting but plan on making as many as possible. Did you buy your L at Bankston in Frisco. If so, who was the salesman.
