Hey Paul, Stainless is usually a bit more. You can also get the same headers in mild steel and ceramic coated, which will cost less. JDM offers them both ways and with a true dual exhaust.

If my memory is still good, FLP F-Body headers are also mild-steel and ceramic coated for right around $1300 with cats and y-pipe. =)

Flash-
Yes your memory does serve you correctly ...the FLP's currently sell for around $1300 w/ both the Offroad and Catalytic setup. Fortunately I got mine when they first came out (ie. I was a guinea pig), so Dan Dolar (@ FLP) offered me a "substantial" discount. However, the FLP's allow the use of the stock Catback. Which leads me to another concern regarding the Kook's.....

Perhaps I misunderstand, but it seems that the Kook's will not mate up to the stock exhaust system, is that correct? So not only do I have to drop $1300 on the Headers, but I also have to purchase an aftermarket Catback that WILL mate up w/ them. Thus requiring an additional $300-450. Is my interpretation accurate? Or did I mis-read?

I'd also like to see a price listing for an Off-road only setup. Perhaps that might make the price a little less painful.

The long tubes won't connect up to your current exhaust, but the longtubes along with the cats and pipes will connect to your current muffler and tips.

posted by sal..."We are selling them as a complete kit, from heads to cat back, for $1310 plus shipping. If you don't want cats, we can get them that way as well."

Ahhhhh, I see now. Well, that takes Some of the sting out.
Thanks for breaking it down so that simple folk like myself can understand.

Now if we could arrange a GP (w/ offroad), I might even be willing to buy a set. <hint-hint>

Well, Dan, I guess you can install anything you want on your truck, as long as you are prepared to deal with the consequences. I'm sure you must be aware that if your vehicle has less than 50K miles on it it is against Federal law to tamper with or remove your stock cats unless they are defective, in which case they must be replaced with new stock ones. Penalty for violation is a $10K fine and mandatory return to stock configuration. Maybe you have more than 50K miles on your truck? Or perhaps you installed them yourself, or knew an installer who was willing to turn a blind eye to the regs? Heck, I know someone who would install a set on my truck, and even arrange to get it smogged when necessary. The fly in the ointment, as I see it, is these damned roadside smog checks that the CHP is deploying around here. I don't know if they are doing it in your neck of the woods, but they are getting more and more prevalent around here. Big Brother is watching your tailpipe. Since I really like the long tubes I may go ahead and get them, particulary since I don't put very many miles on the truck, but I sure will keep the stockers in case I do get pulled over.

Nice looking setup! I was wondering what kind of muffler you were running? It looks pretty nice. I am looking for a new set up and like the way it looks, how does it sound as well. Thanks.

SVT Snake,

That's the Magnaflow stainless mirror finish muffler dual in/dual out with the built in x pipe. I think it's # 14568. If you do the muffler and tips only...the sound is only a little louder than stock. If you do the Long Tubes and high flow cats, it's even louder. I find it loud enough for me. My neck snapping meter tells me performance has increased at all rpm's. A dyno and trip to the track will confirm soon.

The PSP DSL fits with no problem. Good Stuff !
