How To Race???
How To Race???
Quick question, from a stop, would you hit the brake and rev the engine to let your tires burn up, or give a quick bit of moderate throttle followed by full throttle for good traction? which would give a better time?
I learned this method on this forum and it worked for me:
Do your burn-out and push the shifter into neutral, rev up the engine two times but only to around 3500 RPM's. Put it back into drive and stage.
After staging watch the tach and keep it at 1200 RPM's. When the last yellow light comes on let off the brake to let the truck roll a few feet and then nail it. It worked for me and got me some nice 60 ft times.
Practice makes perfect. Good luck!

I just laugh at these people that seem to think the best thing to do is brake stand and peel out spinning the tires. It totally kills your chance for a good launch. Your tires should not be rotating pre-launch.
Staging?
That's OK, we all have to learn.
Staging is when you approach the start line. The light tree has two small yellow lights at the top. As you move toward it the first light will come on. That's the pre-stage light, at this point you are not far enough forward in the stage. Pull a little forward and the stage light comes on and stop. Then you are ready to race.
Go to the dragstrip and watch some guys first and you'll understand completely.

That wasn't necessary but don't think I didn't appreciate it.

Here's a good article for ya to read on basics. 30psi in the rear tires, spin off dirt & debris, torque it to 1100RPM, and "roll" into the throttle on the third yellow.
