Air cleaning

I just had a quick question for all of you guys out there using an open element powerstack filter (JL, PSP, JDM etc....) How often does it need to be cleaned, I have the pre-filter also, but just wondering, don't want to lose power..

even though I dont have one, If they are anything like the k&N, they clean better dirty than clean. If you were racing, I would have a clean filter for racing and a dirty one for regular driving. You might check in the engine forum, I know they have talked quite abit about filters.

I haven't cleaned my K&N, and have had it on 1 year and a month, with about 10K miles on it, still looks good.
