Exclamation Houston we have seating...

mmmkay. . .

We now have the seating issue resolved

"A Plan" is a go.

Would still like to hear about the other issue of durability.

LightningDammit - thanks for that response, is the L your daily driver, if so city or highway miles?

I think i seen on a site somewhere the HD stickers for 36,000 and some change. Was at the dealership today and they said you could start placing orders in march for them and see them around april - may.

Not sure on durabilty my 2000 is at 13k miles and runs strong =p.

Buy the Lightning, modify slightly...chip, filter, shift kit, small pulley and you will have no problems. keep it simple in case a warranty issue happens to arise. Put the car seat in the middle when it's necessary to take the Lightning. Wait for the new Lightning and it will at least have more cab room, maybe an extended cab....who knows.

GG-

Yep! My one and only mode of tramsportation for about 1 and a 1/2 years...

Probably 60% highway miles and 39.5% city miles, and .5% racing miles.

Smile much more reasearch to do. . .

Again thank you all for your replies.

I am still stuck. I will have to surf to see what I can see about durability, recall, upkeep, etc.

I know I would be able to get by the price without question! The seating issue is minimal (eventhough I would like to take a trip to see the rest of my family in Mich, with my new family. That just wouldn't be feesable)

But I can't get by the longevity/durability
I need to know (with reasonable expectation) that in 10 years, daily driven (moderate to light "abuse") it will still be running, without major (blown up/rebuild) expense (even though owning an L in its own right, it's an expensive "lifestyle" with the mods and all, but even bone stock it's fun)

I may be total unreasonable though, owning a new vehicle in general is a gamble. Who's to say it wont break down at 36,001

I need more info. . .

Lord knows next chance I get to get an L, there wont be one.

Future F-??? owner

simple answer get Ford's best 100k war

I had been driving nothing but Toyota's- Supras & 4 Runners since '79, so was leery about a domestic. Buy ONLY Ford's. Huge markup in these things. Bought mine at 40% discount and I know they still made money on it.
