Back to exhaust.....

So what is the final word... I see alot of bassani set ups look like alot of u guys are going that way. i have always used flowmaster so i was wondering if anyof you are using that. I want a nice rumble at idle and loud when youve got any gas going. What is the best out there and how much is the bassani set up. are there any other companies that are good... The bottom line is i want a kick *** sound all the time.. idle and throttle... what is out there for me?

depending on how serious you are, you want to pic from the long tube headers or the shorties.

BUT! hands down the best sounding exhaust is bassani! Nothing can touch it!

Don't use Flowmaster's they do not work well with our trucks. Bassani goes for about $630-$650 + shipping.

Wink

That price for the Bassani is the cat back system, that includes the X-pipe, two mufflers, and the side exhaust with the bigger tips. The Bassani system is a very good system for sound, I have not heard anything close to it yet. I have had the complete Bassani exhaust system (coated shorty headers, high flow cat pipes, X-pipe, mufflers, and the side exhaust with the big polished stainless tips) on my truck for about 5 to 6k miles and I love it. I am taking it all off to try the JDM full exhaust with their long tube headers, I know that there will be more power to be had with the JDM full exhaust and I hope it sounds as good as the Bassani does, time will tell and I will let you all know my thoughts after I get the new system on. So if you haven't spent any money yet and you want the best hp gains I would say go with the JDM full Exhaust and the price is about the same as the complete Bassani.

Cool Bassani cat back

Bassani's cat back converts the stock Nastruck setup(single muffler) to a true dual. All stainless steel construction, X-pipe, two Quiet Thunder mufflers, tails, polished tips. All Mandrel bent, all hardware and hangers. Very nice kit. Great sound. Plenty of stock ready to ship.

Guys,

If you're looking for both POWER & SOUND I have three little letters for you. J D M

I had the full Bassani on my '99 Lightning and it did sound mean BUT the cats fell apart after two weeks and the performance at the track was negligable. Supposedly they have better cats now.

On my '00 Lightning I didn't want to make the same mistake. Since I had done some mods allready and I was running 12.4's on the stock system I wanted to install an exhaust that would work. That's where JDM comes in. Jim installed his stainless long tubes, hi-flo cat pipe and ended with my existing Bassani cat-back. This truck now sounds like it has a Boss 429 in it. BAD A$$ !!!! The exhasut also made a noticeable improvement in power although I haven't been to the track since to prove it. But I will be at Orlando for the FFW so hopefully it'll run the numbers I expect it to.

I have a dual in/dual out flowmaster on my L, and I love the way it sounds. Especially at part throttle, low boost levels. I also got a nice HP/Torque gain.

I have heard alot about Bassani, but to tell the truth. . .I don't think that ANY exhaust is worth what they and Borla want. Regardless of sound, performance, or rust protection.

If sound is what you're after. . .I'd buy the Flowmaster or Magnaflows, then spend the money you saved over the Bassani on a chip.

Later,
