Question Will stock bolt beat this 5.0?

A guy at work has a 91 5.0 with a new motor. It dynoed this weekend at 256 RWHP and 306ft lbs of torque. He states that this car will beat my stock Lightning and that it won't be close. What do you guys with racing experience think?

not a chance

The only thing he has on a bolt is the weight difference, just be weiry of the nos system, if you are betting for money, they can stash that kit anywhere. No worrys

Just remember, sticks are harder to launch without a lot of practice, from a roll, hang on Luthor.......

Actually, that should be very intresting, depending on his axle ratio. If he's running 3.73s and drag radials in the old LX body, he might have a chance. Should run mid to high 13s.

Dyno #'s don't mean crap to me .Their #'s vary from type of dyno to who's dyno. If the 5.0 isn't blown or stroked, you'll win. Last week I had a run with an early fox body with afr heads, 3.73's and a vortech that "dynoed" at 410 h.p. and I stayed with him till 110 mph and actually pulled on him from a roll. All I had is a JDM chip, 4# pulley and stock air box. Go figure. BTW his only time at the track was a 12.8. I say go for it.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think he's going to take me up, though. I told him I'd race him for $100.00. But he just kept talking smack and wouldn't agree to the contest. Guess he's not as confident as he would like everyone to believe.

My '01 Lightning is stock and I have yet to lose to ANY stock GT Mustang. And I've beaten quite a few that were modified.

Go for it!
