Always wear your seatbelt. Most states it's the law and Texas is included. Hell here if your passengers don't buckle up you as the driver get the ticket.

Whether it was a law or not I will always wear mine. I hit a guy broadside going 40MPH and had no time to brake, he just pulled out in front of me. I came out with no injuries. He didn't fair as well. He almost lossed his life and not from the accident after I found out he had no insurance and was in the country illegally. My truck was totaled, his pile of junk was totaled also and he was bleeding from head to foot. The police officer said he would probably leave the country. He did.....

I might add that my truck at the time was a 4X4 Toyota.

Long story short my seat belt saved me.
