There are some good articles in the FAQ section about oil. From what I gathered, it would be best to wait until break-in is complete (5,000-12,000mi) before switching to synthetic. Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic, 5w-20 or 5w-30. Change dio every 2500 to 3500, Ford or Wix filter. Change synthetic from 3000 to 10,000.
Basically, make your choice based on preferences, i.e. depth of pocket book, beliefs, mechanical background, and last but not least, a dumb brother-in-law's bad advice. How can you go wrong?

I also use the Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 5W30, i usually use the mobil 1 filter or Frams extra guard (with kung-fu grip)
