long tube headers/ opinions

I would like to know if anyone is using a long tube header from any of the tuners? If so what are your thoughts about them and experiences with them. Dynos, 1/4 mile times, or anything like that would be appreciated. I know that JDM has dyno #'s on his website but I want to see a actual dynograph before and after. Also, what are your thoughts between the stainless or the cheaper jet hot coated? Do you think that it was money well spent or was it not what you expected? I'm going to be making the purchase soon, so any info is greatly appreciated. If you don't want to post a response then please email me @ mbrown428@msn.com Thanks, Mike

Cool. Thats what I want to hear. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision since the things are so expensive.

Yeah Jim's setup sounds great to. Long Tubes/High Flow convertors (2 not 4) / Bassani Cat back. I bet it will be even better once he gets his truck back!!

My understanding from Jim at JDM:
The jet hot coating keeps the engine compartment sinificantly cooler than the stainless steel. The stainless steels are reccomneded for states or cities with tough emission standards.... they are much hotter and burn more of the gasses.
He runs the jet hot coated in his truck.

Thanks Masterloggie, I was thinking the same thing about the jet hot coated ones being cooler. Thats why I couldn't figure out why they were cheaper.

He didn't just add headers and jump 5 tenths. He also upgraded to a 5# lower.

Yes, but Jim already had a pulley that was only one pound less. It wasn't like he went from a stock to a 5lb pulley. Increasing from a 4 to a 5 or from a 5 to a 6 is good for a half a tenth to a tenth at the very most.

Eric, Thanks man - you are exactly right - I went from a 4# to a 5# which I would say is a tenth max!

Richard, I don't know if the sound will change or not but it will run a little stronger - I hope

Mike, You have mail

Joe, Did you order the rollpan?
