Knocking noise. Need Advise

I am getting a knocking noise from my #7 cyl. It started about 48 hours ago and has progressivly gotten louder. Its still not that loud, but since it has gotten worse, I would like to have it fixed before something worse comes out of it. About a month and a half ago, I had my chip reburned for my 4.10 gears. I don't know if the chip is the problem or not. What do you suggest?

Not a good sign. Hopefully it's not a rod preparing to make its way into the outside world.

If it were me I would remove what mods I could and make an appointment with the dealer.

I just ordered some new plugs--NGK's and I will call my tuner to see if the chip needs a reburn. I seriously hope this solves the problem!!! The L will stay parked for now. Sound like a good starting point??

Not a bad idea to park it. If those new plugs don't cure the knock, then take it in right away.

Might want to make an appointment first in case something blows before you can get it to the dealer though.

Im with easterisland, check that plug to make sure its tight! If its loose, tighten it and it will solve the problem. If the plug is tight, I wouldnt drive it period!! Have a tow truck come get it! If it is the rod it may decide to una$$ your engine on the way to the dealership, then your screwed altogether! Better safe than sorry.

I checked that sucker last night and she was pretty tight. I am wandering and hoping that it is just time for a replacement.

When you checked it did you pull it out? It may be burnt off and caused a bent or burnt valve. That can make a tapping or knocking sound....
