I normally use Mobil or Shell, occassionally Chevron. I don't notice any difference in the different "quality" brands.

Whatever's cheapest (don't care - it's California gas).

Question

Hey Bow-tiekiller, What Shell do you work for? Norco? I work for them here in Deer Park. So of course I use Shell gas. Great price.....I would be interested in doing a true octane test at the pump of all the brands. I wonder if we are getting what we are paying for?

Mike Troyer(Superchip dist. on this board) has posted many times about his research into gas and the "energy content" of the various brands. His belief is that Texaco, Amoco, and Shell(all on the East coast) have the highest energy content. Chevron is best on the 'left coast'.

(If a misstatement has been made, it's my fault, not Mike's.)

Shell 93. I tried a half tank of Citgo 93, and had to call Mike
T., I thought there was something wrong with my truck.
Definately staying with Shell.
Trouble is most of the Shell stations in a 25 mile radius of
my home have switched to Citgo. Oh well the drive will
be fun going after some Shell.
