1.synthetic or petrolium?
2.what viscocity? 5w20?
3.how long on oil and filter change?

I won't claim to know what's best, I'll tell you what I have done with no problems for 10,000 miles:

1. Synthetic
2. Factory recommended 5W20
3. Oil & filter change very 3,000
4. Royal Purple

 

1. Synthetic after 10-12K miles
2. 5W20 dino/5W30 syn
3. Oil & Filter Change every 3000 miles
4. Castrol dino/Mobil1 syn

 

Put it in at 4,000 miles, change it between 4-5,000 miles. No measureable useage, no piston slap or 'strange' noises, no issues--at this time..........especially after I eliminated the unwanted oil in the intake syndrome.
