Doors locked itself when I was out of the Truck!

Very strange happenings this morning. Driving to work in the morning & stopped to pick up a newspaper at the rack. I leave the engine running & sut the door & as I approach the rack to put my quarter in I hear the door locks click. I look inside & YES the door locks locked by itself.

Happen to anyone else ever?

Norcal, the same thing happened to me. I was drying my truck listening to the radio. I close the door to look for any spots, and click. I don't what happened. My truck is not used, and no alarm. How did you get back in. Locksmith??? I was lucky enough to have the back window cracked. My suggestion is to not close your door all the way, roll the window down or turn your truck off. Good Luck.. maybe someone knows how to fix-it. I'm glad to say that it has only happened once. Dageon
Your not alone anymore

I have had it since new. No alarm on it either. Luckily, for some strange reason I had the spare in my jacket.
Guess I am going to have the newspaper delived from now on. LOL

One thing I have noticed lately though. Sometimes it takes awhile for the door to automatically lock after I drive off.

You guys are prime candidates for the keypad mod.

Never happened but,
You could always put the door keypad mod on and never worry again!

I did the keypad mod, but if you do not want to do that just disengage the automatic lock feature. The 2 cheapest and easiest mods are right the the owners manual. You can disengage the seatbelt alarm also. I disengaged my lock feature and seatbelt and do not miss either.

I believe this is automatic if the vehicle moves. it's called auto lock. I believe if you look in your literature you will find a way to disable it...I think...

Unhappy

Yes I had this happen to me once, at the most inopportune time. I had just pulled out of the automatic car wash and the attendant was drying the truck. I got out to fish in my wallet for a tip, and shut the door. Left the keys in the ignition. Click. Had a spare key, guess where it was? Nobody behind me could get through the wash. Shut it down for 20 minutes while the manager drove me home to get the third key. Embarrassing to the max. I wanted to crawl into a hole. Next day went to the Auto Club and had them cut me one of their plastic emergency keys, which now never leaves my wallet. Hasn't happened to me again, but I am a lot more careful about shutting the doors with the keys inside. It does make me feel better that it wasn't a poltergeist, and that it has happened to others.
