Unhappy Blown Gear Box

The slight increase in power has managed to melt all of my internals. Has anyone improved the internal parts like the sprague and clutches. The twin set up is now approaching the 800HP range at 18PSIG on 101 unleaded. With some tuning and timing put into the motor we might be in the 850-900HP range in the near future. Any trans suggestions????

1) as far as your trans question I agree with EvilGuy get a hold of Factory Tech, he has the most knowledge on these trans than any of us.

2) I have been following your progress on your engine, but this is the first time I have seen you post HP numbers. Over 800 HP and with a little more tuning 850-900, WOW it looks like you have gotten most of the bugs worked out. Those are some impressive numbers.

I am getting a new motor built right now, if all goes as planned I am expecting 550-600 rwhp. I thought mine was going to be a sick beast, but after seeing your numbers I guess mine isn't so sick.

You have any recent pics of your project?

Question

Chet, do you still have the Novi on, or did you change to a twin turbo set-up?

Speaking of Twin Turbo setups, is High Risk still working on his?

Chet, damn, those numbers are huge!!! When your done, if your up to another meet, the just post it on the board. No one goes to Cruisers anymore, now it's Flames over on Corbin, right after(or before) Plummer.

Hope to see your around soon...good luck!

We have run into just every problem we could. The air mass thru us for a loop and would not allow us to build fuel pressure etc. We got that worked out and the HP numbers jumped. There is huge power in the timing but you cant get there without running racing gas. So I am cheating. 600-650hp on pump gas are big numbers. This where we had to make the decision to go with the race fuel.No real magic great gas,big injectors,80psig fuel pressure and tons of timing. I should be able to post within the next month after I fix the trans and get back on the dyno. P.S. all with a stock camshaft. My wife drives the truck!!!

Great Chet, my girl saw that, and now is bugging me, saying, "well his wife can handle a 800 hp L, why can't I drive your 400 hp one?"

P.S., I was wondering if I can get some new pictures of your setup? Like when you go Dyno it, or whenever! I've been following this ever since I had my Camaro, and we met at Cruisers.

Let her drive it! If she enjoys it as much as you do it's easier to get her support (financial & emotional) when you mention the mods you want. Just ask RDY2RAC. Thats what he did & I'm almost as nuts about it as he is.
