LFP breather tinsy problem.

I had to take the Lightning out today to get the camber bolts and the truck re-aligned as well as get the bassani exhaust tips moved out a tad to try and keep black soot off the side of the truck.

Anyway when I got it back to work I popped the hood to show one of the tech my new breather filter and it was gone

The part that screws on to the oil filler was there but the filter piece that pushes into that had come off, I found it cradled beetween the valve cover - tranny dipstick.

Anybody else had this problem???

I got some silicone and im trying to use it as an adhesive. I am currently letting it cure to keep the thing in place. Is this ok.

Yep--although mine never got displaced, it was too 'easy' to knock it out of its billet 'seat'. I replaced it with one I got from Sal that has the filter and 'threaded' part all one part--can't be knocked loose.

Honestly, when Aaron from Metco showed me that new set up at NMRA, I really didn't see the point. I mean it's a nice piece and all, but what purpose does it serve? There are breathers available that come with the threads on them from several sources. I sell them for $10 and they fit nice and tight and won't come out for sure.

Breather

Hey Bob,

If you have any more problems please let me know. I'll exchange or refund you your money. I have sold dozens of my breathers and I have never had one knock loose. Sorry for the inconvience.
