160 stat problems

I tried to install the Hyper-Tech 1011 160 stat in my truck. Didn't fit. I had the same problem that others have had. It would not sit flush in the hole. What did you guys do to fix it? Is there another 160 stat that will fit? Do I need to break out the die grinder?

Silver,

Someone had a pic of the one they got, I think some got packaged wrong. It has to look exactly alike to fit...

Bill, they must be boxing them wrong or something. The picture the other guy posted of the one that didn't fit looked like the legs were too wide and hit the intake casting. I wouldn't grind anything, just try to get the right one.

Mine looked just like the one in the picture. I guess wide legs are not always a good thing. I will try another one. Anyone besides Hyper-Tech selling a 160?

That is me......
Yup I had the same problem......I ordered one from Truck Performance and it did not fit. I called them explained my situation and they sent me another free of charge....they even told me to keep the old one cuz it wasn't worth the shipping charges (not like i need the forkin' thing). It was part number 1011 just like you said.

P.S.....the new one just dropped right in

Roger, that is the WRONG one. Seems Hypertech needs to check thier quality control a little better.

Thanks Sal.
