Angry AAAARRRRGGGHHHH! I've got the crack!!!

It's about 1/10" long on drivers side, none yet on passenger side. I guess I will get a new driver door and the fix on the passenger side. I'm down to the last 7 months of warranty on this kind of bull.

Please elaborate, I haven't heard of the door cracking. Where is this. I have heard of the seam caulk stuff cracking on the tops of the trucks, but not door cracks. OH THE AGONY!!!

I'll have to keep an eye out for it on my L. Never did see it on either my 97 or 99 F150 4x4's.

Chainsaw,
Does your pigmy pony like a fast ride? You're showing your age with the FZ reference! Probably not many people get it!

K_S, you're the first one so far, but I only changed it to that a few days ago.

New TSB number!

The new TSB number from Ford is 01-18-12, if you can trust the guys in service.

Bob,

At least you're not the Illinois enema bandit!!

I was a little afraid to open this post, due to it's title.

I've put 41k miles on my truck on the semi-truck beaten roads of Southern CA, and have seen no evidence of cracking in the doors yet.

Maybe better luck than management?

Kent, just do what I did and roll the darn thing. They refused to total it, but I'm getting a new door along with about $9000 worth of other parts. Go by Cooper and take a look. My heads still spinning

I just noticed the crack on my driver side door, it is a little longer than clonetek's. I have 50,081 miles on my truck and no warranty, so my question is will I have to pay for this and if so how much will it be? thanks for any help.

Later

Damon,
It's gonna be expensive. The service rep said it was a 35 step procedure requiring 2-3 hours labor if the crack was not showing on the outside. Once it starts to be visible, they need to repaint to the tune of another 2-3 hours, plus parts & paint.
He also said that by the time it becomes visible on the outside, the crack on the inside is at least 1 inch long. When it reaches 2 inches, they will replace the entire door. This seems to be a bigger problem than it first appears to be.
