Question Sparkplug question

Hello everyone. My question is which plugs to install? I have bought splitfire sf10d, and ngk tr5 already and dont know which ones to install. My mods are superchip (not sure which program) C&L mass airmeter (85mm) with open filter, 3.73 gears, line mod valve, and that is it performance wise. I plan on adding JL 6# lower blower pulley real soon. Two more ? what should the spark plugs be torqued at, and when i get that pulley does my chip need reburned? Thanks for any help.

With that pulley I wouldnt use either of those plugs. If you plan to go with a 6lb, you better have Denso's or BR7 NGK's!!!

Thanks for the info ICULOKN hope you are doing well after your bike wreck. Which plugs do you recommened until I get my 6# pulley, the splitfire's or the ngk's. When I order my pulley I will order the denso's and install them at the same time. Thanks again for your info.

TR5 will work. I prefer the TR6
what should the spark plugs be torqued at
~20 lbs, but you'll never get a tq wrench on all of them.

Yes

Cool

With that C&L MAF and a 6# pulley put the NGK's in because you'll probably be pinging to high heaven anyway. If the plugs go then it won't be the Split's fault. I seems that aftermarket MAF's and big pulleys are hard to tune in the upper RPM range. They seem to max out the voltage early and lean out.

I know a guy that just went through this senario with a ProM and a 2# pulley. He had no problem until he put the pulley on and then he couldn't get it to quit detonating at the track unless he added race gas. He got his chip reburned and still had the problem. He finally bit the bullet and bought a Ford 90mm MAF. He had his chip burned for it and now runs a 4# pulley with no problem.

P.S. Don't throw the Splits away just send them to me or Fast1matt. We know how to use them.

Don't bother to try torqueing them--not enough room for several of them. Run them down to snug/tight by hand and then 1/16th of a full turn more. There are only 4-5 threads holding them in--don't go too tight!
