Screwed by Walker Ford!
Meeting with Mr. Walker
Rich, your the man!
First, let me thank everyone for their suggestions it has really helped. The dealer is currently feeding all kinds of lies. They kinda got trapped in their own web of deceit.
I have put a complaint into the BBB and Ford Corporate. I have requested a meeting with Mr. Walker and I think I'm going to get it. If you guys send me an email with your support, I'll take it into the meeting with me and use it to help support my cause.

yep we went to buy our Expy a couple years back from a ford dealer about 20mins away and they did the bait and switch manuever on my dad. we found the Expy that we wanted and got the $$ from the bank. we agreed on a trade in price for our Caravan. We walked into the lot (WITH THE MONEY IN HAND NO LESS) and noticed that the Expy that we wanted still had that white plastic crap on it. we walked inside and the dealer looked at my dad and said "sorry to say but we sold your car". of course my dad was furious. we walked out and when we got home my dad wrote the Better Business Bureau and Ford Motor Company. Both said that what they did was very wrong and that dealer would be reffered. my dad told our friend about it and he knows a neighbor that works at a ford dealer. we told him about what happened and he set us up with an Expy to our liking. so we were very happy with what happened. he wrote us a card a year later the day we bought it wishing it a happy birthday
well thats my story.
well thats my story.
They took your money, told a bunch of lies and you're still going to do business with them? Hmmm... I'll be interested to see if you complain about them again.
If it was me, I wouldn't even worry or care about it. I'd kindly ask for my money back, kindly tell them why and go somewhere else. On the other hand, maybe they're the only dealer in the entire country that you are allowed to give money to. Only you would know that.

Actually it's the principle. I want them to know that they shouldn't be allowed to do this, it's probably too much effort but I have been pushed to the point of breaking and I want some satisfaction, at the very least an Apology, and I'm willing to work for it.

Corporate types like this usually don't give a flying fart about giving an apology, so don't waste your time. Demand that they either lower the cost of the new truck by another grand because of the aggravation or take your money elsewhere. You've done the right thing by notifying the BBB and Ford, so just keep the fact that they'll hear from them in mind. You might also find that taking this story to another dealer may elicit some sympathy and some gratitude from a reputable dealer that gives a damn about their clients.
Good luck...

To make a long story short. I went to my Dealer on January 13, 2002 to get my info and they told me that Mr. Walker wanted my truck I won't be getting the truck I bought, nor will I get it by the end of February as promised.

What kind of paperwork did they give you when you put the deposit on the truck, did it have a vin # on it?
When I put the deposit on my Lightning that the dealer had allready ordered, the contract I signed had a VIN # on it.
So I say if they cashed your check, they are bound to honor the agreement to deliver you the truck that you and the dealer agreed to.
If I were you I wouldn't bother with the BBB. I would contact the Attorney Generals office in Florida, send them a copy of your contract and a copy of your cancelled check. They are the only one who has any legal authority in these type of disputes.
That is very unprofessional for the dealership to do. I wonder if Mr. Walker would like the same to happen to him when he purchases his next house or boat? I hope that Mr. Walker reconsiders.
These posts are read by thousands of people before they purchase a truck. I am sure many will search for the dealerships name within this board and they will lose a lot of business.

Just to let everyone know. I had nothing against my salesperson Ken Osbourne. He was a very patient and I do mean patient person. I also had dealings with Greig Larsen. He called me about 10 minutes ago and agreed to allow me to have the truck I ordered. Apparently there was some miscommunication and Frank Walker agreed to let it go. Again I want to reiterate that Ken and Greig were great people to deal with and I truely believe the Greig went to bat for me to get the truck.
Thanks for your support, this is truely a great resource.

Morale of the story here is INTEGRITY. There are plenty of dealerships out there that will take your money. Tell Mr. Walker to keep HIS truck. If they treat you like this while you have money in your hand, what do you think they will treat you like IF you have a warranty claim or ?
They've shown you their character, now it's your turn!

But then you could take your money back and be the first one of us to order that new Dodge/Viper truck.
The truth is, the dealer has control over this not you. That contract is made by them, to protect them: it has no meaning for us.
Sorry.

If it's principle like you said, ask for you money back and go somewhere else. So what you get the truck you ordered, big deal, your going against what you said you stand for. You want them to know they shouldn't be allowed to do this, DON'T GIVE THEM $32K of your money. That will hurt them alot more then compaining.
Agree to take the truck and when it comes in tell them you are out of town (insert excuse) and will pick up the truck in couple days. In the meantime have everyone of your friends go down and ask about a new HD and try to buy yours (tell them to give out their names and addresses and a promise to be the first one down to buy it if you back out). Wait till the last possible moment (10 minutes before losing time on Saturday will work) and then go down and inspect your truck. Find some sort of damage or fault and demand your money back (which they will give you if they think 10 other people want the thing at a higher price). Then let them call your friends one by one and get rejected each time. By that time someone will have stolen the wheels off of it (both of the local Ford dealers that stock HD's lost a few sets of wheels last year, one got in 4 HD's and lost 16 wheels, ouch) and they will have to sit on it another week before they make the sale.
Maybe by then Mr. Walker will be sick of seeing it and sell it off cheap as he pulls his hair out, well we can dream.

Make them pay interest on your money oe ask them for a better deal. If they promised a delivery, and now cannot come through, it's the least they can do. If they won't, It's obvious they make too much money, and don't need yours. TAKE IT ELSEWHERE.
The bottom line is what counts. You can say ,do and complain but if you buy the truck from them you lose period . In the end he will get his truck eventually.( He only has 1000 other new vehicles to drive until then.) Also he will get your money EVERY month for years. Think about the old saying,"he will be laughing all the way to the bank". Boy does it apply here.
Ditto on what the other guys said. Go elsewhere. Taking the truck at this point perpetuates their business.
You could request a meeting to tell him where to go, however
(just get that check cleared).
