I am crippled as we all know right now from my bike wreck. My old X from 3 years ago had came over to take me to the mall to try and get a new DVD player. We get back on I-64, not in the L, in the 98 ZX2 I got her when we were engaged. I see a Z06 Milinium Yellow as I had ordered before the L. I was like man I wish I had the L. My girl pulls up just so I can take a look and this ****y guy looks over laughs and pulls away. He slows back down, below the speed limit and points to his Z06 emblem on the fender as we go by.

Needless to say his $50,000 toy is going to get a rude awaking when I find him in the L......

You better hope you have your slicks on and run from a dead stop because if you don't you might be surprised! Those Z06's are fast and nasty fast from a roll!!

 

Yeah.......i have two good friends that have 02 Z06 Vettes.......i have ridden in both of them.........Chris has a few mods.....man his is fast as all hell.......but listen to my cousin....if you get them from a roll.......better not be a sore loser

Don't be too sure of yourself. I notice in your sig your best time is a 12.50. So, as a comparison, the best you could probably run here in Phoenix is a 12.8 (as our tracks don't have traction worth a crap, and high temps and 1250 altitude). Anyhow, I have only seen 1 Z06 at the track. It was the 375 hp version, running bone stock other than slicks and he pulled a 12.41.

 

The 12.50 was with the 3lb/Chip/fliter/ram air only. We have the 6lb and lots of other goodies now. Im sure with traction Ill be real close to the 11 second club this season. I spanked a few 01 Z06's before with the f1's. I have had 1.8's 60 foot with them. Traction really was not a issue!! Ill get him....

 

With traction from a stop...no worries with your new mods. I saw a brand new one run a best of 12.70's on stock rubber. Quick they are,but unbeatable....hardly.

 

I am not up on my vette versions, but Saturday night on 75N this new vette came out of no where and blew past me. We were in traffic and it was really not safe to do anything. The vette REALLY wanted to race, as he made his way thru traffic. I stayed in the far left lane until we got clear of traffic, pulled up next to him. We were running about 75 when we NAILED IT. I could not leave him, he could not leave me until we hit about 135. He BARELY started pulling on me about then. He immediately flashed his lights at me then pulled off an exit ramp and left. My passenger said it was most surprising race. He figured (as I really did) that I did not stand a chance. I wouldn't officially say I won it, but I don't think the vette can either.

 

If you run 11.9-12.0s on the street (street tires...unless you run around on your slicks all the time) then you'll beat him.

I don't know who's driving their Z06s to 12.7s or whatever, but with average air quality and an average driver they're in the 12.4x @ 115-116mph. In good air many are running 12.1-12.2s. I just picked mine up so I can't say what my particular car runs. I'm getting it dyno'd bone stock this next week and then it will have some minor mods + 75hp shot of nitrous. Should run 126-127mph.

I don't know what your truck will run on street tires. 1.8x 60's is great, though!

My truck is a white '01. About the only distinct features of my truck right now is the lighted Ford Emblems and the Aggie Association of Former Students sticker on the blacked out back window. The side windows are slightly illegal as well.

That sounds great meeting for a beer or something, sometime. I live off of Bethany if you keep going east until you pass the old Lucas Grocery. I currently work out of town pretty much 100% but come in on weekends and every other weekend I get a long one (usually Thursday night late until Monday evening late. I see that you have a website I will send you my email or I think you can email me thru this site.

 

Not to mention, the new Z06 has +20 HP, so its 405.

I had trouble convincing my wife that I needed a $30k vehicle with no back seats. The fact that its a truck saved me. I would be crazy to thing that I could convince her that I needed a 405hp Z06 (also 2 seater) with no truck bed for $50k+.. If I could, I would!

My truck is white as well, lowered ~1.5-2", but other than that completely stock looking outside.

Wa2fast, the 12.73 run i saw was a brand new 405hp zo6 at an awesome track in 60 degree air and witnessed by 5 lightning owners,3 of which are on this site. I also saw one run low 13's at another not so great track this fall and this was witnessed by 2 people on this site. I guess not everyone can drive lol.

 

I've seen 2 run at the track last season. One ran 12.9's and the other one was the latest version that ran 13.0's. I talked to the last guy for a while and he said 13.0's was the best time so far (it was stock).
