Don't all C5 Corvettes have traction control? Do most drivers shut this off when drag racing?

Maybe this is of no help if it causes the motor to bog.

A friend of mine has a new 02. It is really fast. We went to the track just before the end of season and he pulled off a 12.55 on his 1st and only pass for the night.

No, they couldn't drive it, IMHO.

I didn't mean to make it sound like the thing _couldn't_ run a pitiful time.

But if people think this is normal (or a 13.00x or whatever) then they are in for a rude awakening when they run into one on the street with their Lightning that runs mid-12s on slicks.

My butt-meter isn't perfect, but I've raced/owned a lot of 12-second and faster cars. This car, with a little practice, is capable of low-12s at over 116mph easily...bone stock on _stock_ tires. There are plenty of vehicles that are faster, including a number of trucks on this site. That's beside the point, as "there's always someone faster."
