Question 4lb pulley and stock plugs

i'm going to be putting in a jdm 4lb pulley in the next few weeks. Anyway i was woundering if it will be alright to run with stock plugs for a few months, until i get around (the money) to buy a set of oem plugs. I usually don't run my truck to hard and i don't go to the track (yet)

Probleminfected,
Believe me, I went through the same delima several weeks ago as I plan on addin a JDM 4# lower too (tomorrow!!). I decided to play it safe and install cooler plugs. I just changed them about an hour ago. Really, it wasn't that bad changing the plugs and turned out to be easier than I thought it would be. Decided on Denso. If it were my truck, I would change them and take no chances, my 0.02.

I would spend the extra few bucks and get some plugs. Cheap insurance.

What happened to this guys engine? Did a rod/rods break or did he run too lean and burn up his plugs and pistons and valves?
I'm really trying to understand what causes these engines to blow. It sounds like most of it is broken rods. Not people running lean and detonating and other things.
Bubbalightning ran stock plugs with a 4# lower and metco upper. His engine blew up only because his rod broke. He said there was no other damage.
