Wink

I look at the gen 2 Ls like the 1955 - 1956 Ford F-150s they will be cool forever. So i'll hang on to mine as long as i can.

Ditto.
Couldn't have said it better.

Well, I don't have a Lightning yet, but I'm planning to get one in June. Been saving for two years. I plan on keeping mine til I either get too old to drive or it becomes a scarce classic and I can finance a couple days in the old folks home for it. I'm 53 now, and I have always wanted a high performance vehicle since high school , so this will fulfill a dream of mine.

Imagine the look on the young whippersnapper's face when this 75 year old coot opens the garage door and there sits this gorgeous, mint, red Lightning....

Thanks, Raoul. I really like the ol' 97. Just passed 90,000 miles; no problems whatsoever. But, I think I'm gonna keep it when I get the L. The 97 is and will continue to be my daily driver. I have thought about selling the 97 to my son and getting a Ranger, but it's just speculation at this point.

I plan to be buried in my L, but I hope that doesn't happen for 50 or so more years.

I'm keeping my baby forever!

As soon as the new gen 3 L comes out I'm getting one of those and then transforming this 99 into a full blown drag race monster!

I plan on being burried in my truck when I die. Thats what I told everyone anyway, I'm going to need a hew plots huh!

I plan on keeping my L for quite a while. But, shiznit happens, I planned on keeping my '97 Cobra for a long time too.

All I know is that I am going to enjoy it as long as I have it.

I just got my L a few months ago, but I only bought it to hold me over until my 2002 Chevrolet S-10 eXtreme arrives this February. Then I'll dump the L and start doing some serious racing! LMAO!

that's the plan

I'll be keeping mine forever. I'll have to drive it this year and maybe next in the winter, but as least as possible. Other than that, my warrenty say's ill have it for at least 5 years....i say say i'll have it longer. No more messing around. After i'm done paying this, it's mortgage time!!!

Forever or until a super L comes out. (500+hp) Then I might be persuaded to upgrade. Whoever I sell this one to gets a nice truck. Only 10K on it now, and it was driven the whole first year.

I generally keep a vehicle a long time anyway and my L will be no exception. With luck and lots of care, I can imagine it in my driveway 15 years from now.

It all depends on how many problems that it gives me after the warranty is up. I love modding and doing my own maintenance, but nothing pisses me more than a vehicle that just never seems to be "right". I've had a few of those before, and I'm always quick to ditch them. As for the L, so far so good.
