Question Help please.......

I am installing my thermostat and I ran into a problem. The thermostat doesn't want to seat all the way down onto the inner lip. It seems to tall. So putting the upper radiator hose back over the thermostat is a no go.

This should be a walk in the park........what the hell is wrong.

BTW.......it is a Hypertech #1011

Joe, this is how it gets assembled...

Thermostat goes into the intake, with the part with the spring facing down. Then the O ring goes on, then the housing goes on. I think Dan may be right, you might have it upside down.

Angry Who knows

Nope it is in the right way........not trying to be a know it all...I am just really pi$$ed!!!!!!

The spring is facing down. Here is what I think......after comparing the old and new one......the new one is WAY wider than the old one......the "angled arms" (for lack of a better term) that extend from the bottom spring retainer are 3/16" wider than the old one. So this is what I think is preventing it from just falling down onto the lip.

Any thoughts........am I way off or what??????

Maybe they put the wrong part in the box.

BTW.......it says #1011 on the box

Well, it's always possible they boxed it wrong. Can you take some pics of the new and old one?

Joe, that definately doesn't look right. It should be shaped just like the stocker.

Thumbs up Truck Performance

I know a couple people have had mixed feelings about Truck Performance but they sure get my vote for a top notch company. If you have followed this thread you will notice they put the wrong thermostat in a box labeled as a #1011. Well I called them today explained my situation and the guy told me he will put a new one in the mail today
He told me not to even worry about sending back the other one cuz it isn't worth the shipping charges back to Cali.

Just an FYI
