I just picked up my L from service for a check engine light. And of course, the light is still on, "due to aftermarket chip,etc...". But the sob took my truck for a test drive and had a smoke in the truck. Now, to smokers this is not a big deal, but now my truck smells like sh*t!!!. Should i complain or is this 'standard' dealer practices. And of course, they didnt wash my truck either.

 

I would definitely complain. I do not know where or what, if anything, it would get you, but I still would. I have never, nor will I ever let anyone smoke in any of my cars.

 

I dont own an L but if i were you i would complain. if he wants to smoke up he should do it on his time. i would A) talk to the manager and B) write a letter to Ford. he had no right to do it. if anything i would think that he would wash your truck to say "sorry" for smoking in your truck. BTW did you check your mileage before you dropped it off and after you got your truck back? make sure he didn't have a coupla smokes instead of just one? hope everything works out

 

Me an Vito love those premium cigars but I don't smoke them in my L--and I don't want anybody else to either.

But , you want the dealer to wash your L? No way--no thanks.

Man, I'm steamed just thinking about it. Complain, for sure, to the service manager, also to the dealer's general manager.

I don't post or reply to this section often but this struck a cord. I am a reformed smoker...we, as a group are far worse than non-smokers. If a representitive of a dealer, be it a mechanic or a manager took my truck for a test drive and had a butt in it, I would go ape$h!t. They put down the paper mats to keep your floor clean, cover the wheel so as not to get grease on it and then drive it with a butt in thier mouth? They have some splainin to do Lucy..............at the very least, they should pay for you to have the inside detailed.

I would complain, But letting them wash your truck is almost as bad. Think of who they have doing that at the dealership. I don't wan't THAT guy touching my truck's paint. I'm sure that he would make sure there wasn't any (rocks / sh*t) in the sponge, or whatever they use. jmho

 

They owe you an interior detail. I would be livid.

 

In a situation like that, I usually don't know what I'm gonna do 'till after I've already done it and everyone is standing around with shocked or horrified expressions. Man, that really pi$$es me off!

 

I am a smoke but never smoke in any of my veichles. I would have gone threw the ******ing roof if I were you. That is just plan ignorent. I am always in hee sticking up for dealers and technicians. Not this time thats just plain bullsh*t. I would not even bother with the service manager I would go directly to the the jerkoff that did this.

 

I would complain about that ASAP.


I usually do stuff without thinking too. I had to come home one day because the microwave man was coming The microwave I had was faulty and it's attaches above my stove. He removed the microwave and was working on the cabinet above the stover where the microwave had been. He dropped a screwdriver and, flat edge down, BAM!! into my stove. Chipped the porcelain. I was standing in the doorway and said, "WTF!' Supper loud. Scared the crud outta him

Moral of the story. They are ordering me a new stovetop

 

I'd sue. I hear those things cause cancer!

 

I would make them install a whole new interior..nope thats not good enough.I would make them give me an all alluminum blown 10 cylynder L that was garaunteed to whip next years competition from dodge...Oh and i would make them pay off my L loan and my mortgage and my other truck loan and my credit cards. And then i would demand the tech receive 40 lashes. Tuff crowd here and i don't want to seem to liberal lol. I am about to quit and although i think what happened was wrong,i hope i don't ever end up having a heart attack over someone elses smoking.
