Shiftkit

Everyone i have talked to have been saying to a shiftkit. I told my dad I was going to get one and he seems to think that a shift kit would just change the shifting points. He seems to think that it wouldn't help the tranny out much. Can someone explain to me what exactly it does. It would be great to figure it out before i lose a tranny.

The kit is not going to change the rpm that your shifting at, it will remove alot of the slack time between gears makeing the shift more firm and instant. This should make the tranny last longer. Its like less slipping between gears. If your running a chip I would consider getting a shift kit for sure. (Just my opinion.)

Question which shift kit

rfat16

Go to www.powersurgeperformance.net and get a factory tech falve body. The guy that makes these works for ford, he builds transmissions for Lightnings and he knows what he`s doing. He also posts on this web site, he goes by the name of factory tech.

I hope this helps.

Larry.
