Truck feels slower after Magnaflow installation
I also have the 14468, it is sheduled to be installed this Wednesday. The shop doing the install has a mandrel bender. An exhaust shop without a mandrel bender is kinda like a dentist without a drill.
They are not THAT expensive, and they are a must for high quality installations.
As far as power, I sure hope I don't LOOSE power by installing this muffler! You guys have me concerned now. I am installing it for sound only, and don't expect any gain, but I sure don't want a loss!
I'll let you guys know how is goes Thursday.

Thanks guys
Well hope I can find a place here in Atlanta that mandrel bends also. I want my power back.. And by the way, is the 30,000 mile tune up that ford offers for our truck really worth it? they told me for a fuel and intake flush, spark plug change and all the other lube changes, the told me around 500 bucks.. He really danced around giving me a definite amount..Has anyone ever had this done on their L? If so did your truck run any better? i'm at 40,000 miles now and only had my regular oil changes done.. I spit a plug once a couple weeks after i bought my truck..
Sounds GOOD!!!!!
Hey 01 Lightning, The magnaflows sound excellent!!! I'm glad i didn't go with anything else. I'm 100 percent impressed with the sound of the muffler. Sounds like a different engine has been planted under the hood. I didn't want a muffler that was too loud. I still also enjoy the whine of the Eaton. So I get the sound of a muscle truck and a Jet taking off at the same time. With the 12468 you get the best of both worlds.. Magnaflow is the way to go!!!

To be honest, I don't think that non-mandrel bent tail pipes will really make a noticable difference in power. That is unless they are really crimped up bad, like to half the size they are supposed to be.

Have you reset the computer ?? Get home from work TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION !!! IMPORTANT!! Disconnect the negative post on the battery. Next morning reconnect the battery and you are off. Just make sure the key is out untill after you reconnect the battery.
This is what was suggested to me and I fell for it. Im not sure if it will help you or not but you may want to clean your air filter at the same time.
Now the computer/sensors are "fresh" to store up data on your systems.
Hope this helps. My magnaflow not only has the ideal sound for me., but i noticed absolutely no change in power. When I had the flowmasters i noticed a HUGE difference in gas mileage (for the better) But they were just too loud inside the cab for a daily driver.

mandrel...
I don't think NON-mandrel as oppsed to Mandrel bends are really going to make a noticable differance in a street truck. I think you would only notice the gains/loss on a flow bench not in everyday use. I also don't think that ther are to many mandrel bend shops in the USA not at least a muffler shop the machines are probably a few 100k so I think the big shops have them (KROOKS ect.). I find it far fetched that a local guy has one. I think there must be another problem to give you this loss I remeber someone saying there cat's got messed up this would really kill the exhaust flow and cause some problems not a little crimp in a bend of a exhaust pipe after the muffler. I don't want to flame anyone but lets face it even if you lost 10 hp you would not notice it driving on the street probably the track also.
Hey just my opinion dont kill me...lol

Do a search on your search engine for "Bad exhaust bends" or "Crimped exhaust bends" and you'll find lots of info as to the flow losses involved. Crimped exhaust bends can flow as much as 50% less than a mandrel bend. There is not only a noticeable difference in performance and efficiency, but a great deal of heat retention due to poor flow. This can result in the early failure of the exhaust components. Here are a few links that should give one a basic understanding of what is involved.
