Lightning, Monthly Payments/Insurance?

Was wondering what some of you pay Monthly for your Lightnings. and what insurance is like. i'll be putting between 7 and $9,000 down on a new vehicle. with x-plan of course. Not sure which direction im going in as of yet. I've loved Lightnings ever since i saw the 99 Lightning. So of course i want a Lightning and its my number 1 Pick. But it depends on what my monthly payments will end up being like, and of course the Killer overly priced insurance for a 20 year old. Any Responces will be most greatly appriceated. i only bring home a $1200 check monthly at the current moment since im taking pay cut. but dont want half of it going towards my vehicle. Latruhs and thanks

Ps. I Live in Kansas City, MO for all you guys around this area

I found the insurance to be very reasonable for my 02 L. As a matter of fact it is cheaper than my 01 Explorer Sport. With a premium increase last month it comes to $52 per month. Insurance is a tough one to nail down because of so many factors (age, driving record, deductables, coverages, zip code, multiple drivers/cars/house/life insurance) It all comes in to play if you stick with one insurance company. I have had great luck with Allstate. Your best bet is to pull a VIN number off of a Lightning you are interested in and give it to you Insurance agent for a quote. FYI my agent told me the L is cheap to insure because it is rated as a plain 2wd pickup. I live in the KCMO area also.

ummm...$1200 monthly to work with.

How about take the 7 to 9 grand down payment and stroke a check for a new Kia Rio w/ 10yr 100,000 mi warranty.

Since you will hold title, you would only need liability ins which should run you less than $50 per month.

(If you do get the Lightning might as well get a new userid here, something like Forever Stock)

Good Luck.

I am afraid to tell you, that there is no Lightning in your near future. Save your money and maybe next year

Gas will eat up half your paycheck a month especially if the Lightning is your daily driver .
