Unhappy I wish I could answer

Jeeez, at $495 they must be made in Heaven by God himself using solid gold !!!

I don't mind paying for mods but that's unbelievably high!

They resemble a Rancho bar that has been modified, but I can
not be sure of it. Makes no real difference , as anything I have
obtained from JDM has been top notch in my opinion.

Question Marc Carpenter

I suppose you have the JDM traction bars, so do you recommend them and think they are worth that much money? I need some and I'm shopping around.

Thanks,

Tim

Quality isn't really an issue

I believe thay are the best set up available for the L right now, but I would just wait awhile, if you can, and see if something doesn't pop up. $500 is a lot of $ for some modified Rancho torque bars.

the reason I ask is so I can go direct to the source, any mods needed to make them work, I can do... and for alot less than $200 bones. Plus, Im trying to stick with just one guy for all my parts L related, he just does not have these! course at 400+ I wouldnt buy them even if he did! LFP is who im going through for all my goodies. Ive been on Ranchos site, they dont mention those bars anywhere, you sure they are made by Rancho?

Wink

I would'nt say simply Rancho bars, If you think so buy a set of the rancho bars and let me know how you got them on and to work for you.
They are Rancho bars, but when JDM gets them they have to cut and modify and re-weld the brackets so that they will work on our truck's. I saw this first hand, so if you think that you can buy a set of off the shelf Rancho's and be able to get them on and have them work, just give it a try.
I have tried the Caltrax bars or what ever you call them and the the JDM bars work by far better. Infact two of our fellow Lightning owners gave me their take off Caltrax after they switched to the JDM bars. Plus once you have them mounted there is zero noise from them and you never have to touch them again.
Well worth the money in my opinion.

Bill

hd, I never said they were not good products, I just said that "yes" I can do the mods needed to make them work. I was just trying to find out where to start, so I could get the bars.

MadNess,
My post wasn't directed at you, I am sure that if you have the resources you can modify them, and they will work great for you. It was directed at the post that they are just simply Rancho bars, that is misleading and for people to read that, that don't have a welder and the know how to modify them with out messing them up, If they just bought the off the shelf Rancho bars, they would not be able to use them. And it would just plain suck to order them, get them in, take your truck apart just to find out that they WILL NOT fit.
I am just trying to tell it how it is, buy them from JDM or not, does not matter to me, But one guy stands out and always to try's to steer people away from JDM. Is JDM the best? In my opinion yes, in anyone elses opinion, who knows. Just tell it how it is and don't mislead people just to try to stop a potential sale to JDM.

Spiro,
I am here to learn and pass on info to others to help them, Like you use to be. I am just telling people that they are not simply Rancho bars, I know I would not want to read that thinking that I could buy off the shelf Rancho's and have them fit on my truck, just to find out that they don't.
If you had posted that they were Rancho's that Jim then modifies them to work on our trucks, I wouldn't have even posted.
I know you and Jim have differences and that is fine, but Just tell it as it is.
When people e-mail me or ask me something about Sal or JL, I tell them how it is straight, I have dealt with them both in the past and they were great to work with.
I just like to stick with one tuner and JDM has and is making my truck as fast as I want it to be, and is a great guy. Jim and the whole JDM staff feels like family when I talk with them or go down to visit, I will never switch to anyone else, and that is a promise, that is how happy I am with them. I decided when I put my truck up for the winter that I wanted it to be a 10 second truck and that is where it will be ( without useing the Juice) so I can't wait to see where I get when I decide to spray again.
You will never see me post anything negitive about any other tuner, and that is how it should be. Who anyone chooses is up to them.
All I ask is that people try to do the same, and if you like another tuner better, good for you. But just answer peoples posts if you choose, the right way, tell it how it is and don't try to make a joke out of a tuner everytime some one ask's a question about them.
And you need to relax a bit when it comes to JDM, it is all in the past Spiro, let it go. For you and all of us.

Bill
