Unhappy License Plate display

I have been riding around in my Lightning without a front Licence Plate display for about three months now. Unfortunately i live in Texas where that isn't allowed. I got pulled over the other day and was given a warning for it and so i had to drill the holes in the beautiful untouched bumper. Well, the problem is that i drilled to high so i had to drill again, now there are to holes showing that shouldn't , how can i cover these up. also are there any brackets that would help out instead of having the stupid plate just hanging there.

That's messed up! I live in a state where only the rear plate is required. My L still came with the front license plate bracket as part of the delivery package. I can't believe a dealer in a state thate does require it wouldn't provide it right away with the purchase of the vehicle. That's crap!

I know how you guys feel about the plate's. Its like that in IL also and I refuse to put a front plate on my truck.

Corvette guys get away with not having one all the time, the T/A's do the same too. Its B.S.

I just tell them everytime I get piched, officer this a limited edition truck and I don't drive it that much and I'm not putting a front plate on! I'm not going to screw that thing to the front of my truck. Some get pissed and most just agree with me and forget about it.

I don't understand why its so damn important to have the front plate on anyway, mostly when your reading someone's plates you int he back of them RIGHT! stupid laws are bull*****!

Now I just carry my front plate with me and in the event that I get pinched I pull it out and throw it on the dash and tell them I'm still waiting for ford to get my front plate bracket cause there is no where to mount it without it. that works all the time for me now. What a pain though!

I'm in Indiana we only need one plate but the front mount came in the pocket of my door. Now its sitting on the shelf next to the one that came with my svt Contour. I thought they had to give you the front mount regardless of need? My contact the selling dealer. Hmmm maybe I should put the front mount on Ebay LOL

Man that sux!!!

A little late now, but if you look real close at the bumper there are two small indentions where the hole for the license plate need to be drilled.

I was given the bracket for my front plate when I picked up my truck but so far I haven't had to use it. I have only been pulled over once and the cop didn't say anything about it.

I live in North Carolina where a front plate is not required but I bought a polished stainless plate at the dealer with the lightning bolt on it, just in case I wanted to put it on. Two days later I drilled the stupid holes, installed it, and the next day took it off. I can't believe how STUPID I was to mess up the beautiful front bumper.

Long story short, Pep Boys has screws and chrome caps to cover the holes. Don't look good, but what ya going to do, short of filling and painting? I could kick my A$$!!!

I have been pulled over once for no front plates just outside of College Station, TX(Only got a warning). I have never been hassled about it around San Antonio though. I still refuse to put it on, it looks ugly in my opinion.

Lightbulb Front Plate Alternative...

I work in Downtown San Francisco and drive to work daily. When you get off the freeway to enter town there are at least 2 motorcycle cops waiting for people with no front plates. The reason they are targeting so hard is because of the photo enforced intersections. Well, I didn't want to drill into my front either so, I had my friend make a sticker for my front license plate. The sticker is 3 pieces each color is a different piece. His primary business is making stickers for import cars. I used ask him if stickers make the cars go faster. I'll find out when I go to Sacremento... Check the pictures... You can have any import car sticker place make it for you...
