help with traction bars???
i was just wondering if traction bars are ok for daily, non track use
my days off are on mon and tue the only track days are wed and fri. so i dont see much of the track but there is a lot of LS1s and mustangs around here. i would just like a little more of an advantage off the line, my friend told me to put some traction bars on, but did not know if they were ok for the long run as daily use.
any help would be great thanks

My Truck-Traks(slapper bar style) work fine on the track(1/4 mile) and as I drive it daily to and from work. You won't even know they are until you 'launch' it hard. PSP sells them. oh, and they're easy to put on.
Other guys like the JDM bars but I'll let them post...

I have 26,000 miles on my truck and have JDM's traction bars on mine. You don't even know they are there, if anything they help the handling.
I think they are the best traction bars out there.

Before I lowered the truck there was allmost 4 inches of clearance. There is now about a 1 1/2 inches, so far it only hits if you fly over speed bumps, and just barely.
The picture distorts the clearance a little.

I just put the JDM bars on my truck and I really like them. A tad pricey, but my truck is my tow vehicle, and the JDMs are the only ones really compatible with towing. No adjustments between street and strip, and they do not compromise handling- if anything, they help it.

SVTMagnus,
I designed the Truck-Traks for everyday use. I drive 600-800 miles per week, and wanted a traction bar that wouldn't be noisy, or effect the ride quality in daily use.
The Truck-Traks are a "slapper" type of traction bar that clamps onto the rear leaf springs. They have a rubber snubber on the forward end that contacts the spring under acceleration to help lift the front of the truck and transfer weight to the rear tires, providing better traction.
They install in about 20-25 minutes with a 3/4" wrench or socket.
They can be tuned at the race track by adjusting the clearance between the snubber and the spring.
Just click on the website below, and you can see how they mount and work.

hey guys i too am interested in the traction bars. but i have a question i have the bassani exhaust and it seems like i heard at one time that they wouldnt work with the bassani exhaust b/c they touched the the exhaust. it just seems like i heard that way back when i may have dreamed it up but please set me straight. o and jl is coming up with some traction bars too right how are these going to differ from the jdm kit or is it. anyone that knows feel free to write in.
Rusty, the Truck-Traks will work well with the Bassani Catback. All you have to do is slide them rearward a little for adequate clearance.
You can check with Sal at PSP. He is running a Bassani exhaust. He would have first hand experience.
